December 27th, 2012 in tips
With the holiday season finally in the rear view mirror, and a new year just up ahead, heres short guide to riding a cab this
New Years in San Diego, which is the busiest night of the year for taxi companies.
Because of the large number of calls we recieve on that night, we will not be offering scheduled time calls between the hours of 5pm Dec 31st, and 5am Jan 1st.
Expect delays if your trying to order a cab over the phone. We will have all our represantatives on call on New Years, working hard so you can enjoy your night. To help move things along quicker for everyone, be prepared to provide:
- Phone number: so we can let you know when your cab arrives, and contact you if we have any questions
- Pickup address: Including the street name and number, and whethe its an apartment, home, or business. And remember, we cannot send cabs to corners or intersections, only exact addresses. Landmarks also work.
- Last name, or name of the passanger if your calling for someone else.
- Payment method: will you be paying with cash or credit card
And if your in dense cab areas such as downtown, or pacific beach, we suggest that you try and hail a cab from the street.
Our usual taxi hailing apps, such as ridecharge and taximagic, will not be in service during new years. We will only be taking orders over the phone, so give us call directly at 4 44-4444 if you would to request a cab.
Checkpoints are scheduled to be set up around San Diego County this weekend and again on New Year's Eve to catch suspected drunken drivers.
Police officers in El Cajon scheduled a checkpoint from about 6 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday in an effort to reduce the number of people injured or killed in alcohol- or drug-related crashes and to ensure drivers had valid licenses,
